With more than $200 Billion annually in international aid
aimed at nearly every economic sector including
e-government, agro-industry, health, education,
infrastructure, environment, energy, and much more, we
seek to partner with International Development Finance
Organizations to ensure transparent and adequate linkage
between the beneficiaries.
SPEED Consulting believes that the key to economic and
social progress in Africa is effective participation and
engagement of the private sector and non-government
organizations. The economics of this progress rely on
healthy relationships with international funding
organizations, who seek out the thought leadership of
the private sector to create growth and advance emerging
markets.
The opportunities for the private sector in the
developing world are immense, but navigating this
terrain requires experience, market intelligence, and
dedicated resources. To be truly effective, initiatives
must be led by strategic partnerships between thought
leaders and donors inside the international development
community. Our role is to bridge the existing gaps.
SPEED Consulting through its Local Funding Agency (LFA)
will help Funding Agencies maintain a lean and efficient
Secretariat, our LFA helps Donors who do not maintain
local offices in Nigeria, Instead it relies on our LFA
to provide oversight services at the country level.
The LFA will perform any or all of the following
functions for the Funding Agency;
1. Fund Portfolio Management
2. Grant recipient assessment
The LFA is contracted to provide independent,
professional and informed advice to the Funding Agencies
at the country level, at various stages of the grant
lifecycle.
The LFA is a crucial part of the Funding Agency’s system
of oversight and risk management. Its principal role is
to assess the capacity of Primary Recipients to manage
the implementation of the activities funded under
grants, (including the PR’s capacity to oversee
implementation by Sub-recipients) and to provide the
Secretariat on an ongoing basis with relevant
information on issues or risks which might affect grant
performance.
Through a special arrangement our LFA could be the
Funding Agencies representative in-country and also make
decisions on grants.
The LFA must not participate in implementation of the
grant, nor provide technical assistance or capacity
building to grant recipients.
